Song Tour

First things first, when you look at the songs of DMB, you have to think of them more as a tree of songs, rather than a progression one after the other. Some music the band does not count as a song, while others have lyrics and music but are not songs.

This kinda explains why certain songs can appear in one form, while not working out numerically. This also explains how ones “music” can debut before the “song” can.

This version is the 2.0 version of the list. The biggest change is a new song #1. According to Mark Roebuck, co-writer of The Song That Jane Likes, I’ll Back You Up was finished after STJL. That seems more probable, so we’re making STJL #1 and IBYU #2. You’ll also notice that some songs appear as teases before they’re actually formed as songs, most notably Grace Is Gone. The chords first appeared on 12.28.92, but the song did not form until 2000.
